Artist's notes:
The
Wood Thrush illustration was commissioned by Stackpole Books
for
Laura Erickson's 101 Ways to Help Birds. The inked version
was completed in 2005 and the digital tinting added in 2007.

Information about the Wood Thrush:
The Wood Thrush is a medium sized songbird. It is closely
related to the American Robin. It is widely distributed
across North America. During the winter months this Neotropical
songbird migrates to Central America and Mexico. The Wood
Thrush is omnivorous, feeding on worms and other soil invertebrates
but it will also eat fruits and berries. It is the official
bird of the District of Columbia.
