Artist's notes:
The
Cerulean Warbler illustration was commissioned by Stackpole
Books for
Laura Erickson's 101 Ways to Help Birds. The black and
white inked version was created in 2005 and the color tinting
added in 2007.

Information about the Cerulean Warbler:
The Cerulean Warbler is a small New World songbird of
the treetops of deciduous forests of North America, while
it winters in South America. It feeds primarily on insects
it gleans from the leaves of trees and bushes. This Warbler
is one of the species of highest concern in the eastern
United States because of it's small total population size
and significant declines throughout its range. It is under
consideration for listing under the Endangered Species Act.
