Information about the Texas Horned Lizard:
Texas Horned Lizards - also called a ‘horny toad’ - live
mainly in sandy areas where it often inhabits abandoned
animal burrows. The habitat of this lizard is usually in
close proximity to the nests of harvester ants. The Texas
Horned Lizard has the ability to squirt an aimed stream
of blood from the corners of the eyes. It is the official
reptile of the state of Texas.
