atlantic spotted dolphin thumb The Atlantic Spotted Dolphin was part of a series of three dolphins I created in 2004. The digital tinting was added in 2007.

Information about the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin:

The Atlantic Spotted Dolphin is a marine mammal found in the tropical and temperate areas of the North Atlantic Ocean. As the name implies the dolphin's underside is covered with a distinctive spotted coloration. This dolphin is very gregarious and is often found in pods with other Atlantic Spotted Dolphins. It is a very fast swimmer and is often seen at the bows of ocean going boats. It will also jump up out of the water and perform aerial acrobatics.
