Artist's notes:

european tree frog thumb My first frog drawing. I completed the line art version of the European Treefrog while living in Germany in 1998/99. The digital tinting was added in 2007.

Information about the European Tree Frog:

As the name implies, this is a small tree frog native to mainland Europe. The tree frogs generally don't live in forests, but rather they prefer forest edges, dunes, wet scrubland and meadows and parks with ponds rich in submerged vegetation. Historically, tree frogs were used as barometers because they croak as rain approaches.
