This frog, while somewhat usual in appearance, turned out to be very challenging. Getting the texture of the skill proved pretty tough and time consuming. But I think it is one of my strongest amphibian drawings to date, so all that work paid off. The drawing is based on a photo by Jake Scott.
| Information about the Barking Tree Frog:The Barking Treefrog is native to the forests of the southeastern coastal areas of the US, usually near a body of water. They are one of the largest tree frogs in North America, growing to about 3 inches long. As the name indicates, they spend most of their time in trees. The "barking" comes from the low-pitched sound the frog makes during the breeding season, which some consider to be similar to the bark of a dog or the honk of a goose. This barking sound is deeper when the frogs is partially submerged. FREE SHIPPING IN THE US! |
