Artist's notes:
 The
Great White was a 're-do' from an earlier drawing. The original
was a bit too placid for the reputation of this incredible
animal. I was lucky enough to see the Great White that was
held in captivity very briefly at the Monterey Aquarium
in 2005. Although it wasn't a full grown adult shark, it
was still looked very formidable and spectacular. The drawing
is based on a photo by Venson Kuchipudi. If you want to

Information about the Great White Shark:
The Great White is a very large lamniform or mackerel
shark. It is the largest known predatory fish. They live
in nearly all coastal waters having a temperature between
54 and 75 degrees. They typically grow to between 13 and
16 feet and can weigh up to 2400 pounds. The largest Great
White recorded was 19 feet long, although even larger ones
have been reported.
