Artist's notes:
This
was the first drawing that I was basically able to complete
(the line art version) in one day. The ink version was completed
in 2004 and the color added in 2008. The background was
added a few weeks later.

Information about the Common Cuttlefish:
The Common or European Cuttlefish is one of the largest
of the cuttlefish. They inhabit the North, Baltic and Mediterranean
seas. The cuttlefish lives on sandy and muddy seabeds. They
generally feed on crustaceans, but will also eat fish, other
cephalopods and even algae. Cuttlefish are very intelligent
animals.
