Artist's notes:
Butterflies
are always fun to draw. The swallowtail's coloration is
lovely and the deep blue fading into yellow is particularly
beautiful. This drawing was originally a Valentine's Day
gift in 2005. Color was added in 2007.

Information about the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Butterfly:
The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail is a large butterfly growing
up to 6.5 inches. As the name implies they are found in
the eastern part of North America. They get their name from
the prominent 'tiger stripes' on their wings. This beautiful
insect is the state butterfly of Georgia, Delaware, Alabama,
Virginia and South Carolina.
